Iztuzu Beach is a unique 4.5 km strip of sand between the Dalyan delta and the Mediterranean, and one of the most important nesting sites for loggerhead turtles.
When to go
May to October is the best time. Turtles lay their eggs in June–July and the hatchlings head to the sea in August–September. The beach is closed at night to protect the nests.
How to get there
About 20 minutes by minibus from the hotel, or a lovely 40-minute river boat ride through the reeds.
Good to know
- Only put up umbrellas in the marked zone.
- Do not touch the caged nests on the sand.
- Visit the rescue centre at the end of the beach.
